Post-Fire Investigation Determined That Valuables Were Stolen From Grey Fox Floral Building

Crews were on South Evans Street in the City of Tecumseh fighting a fire at the Grey Fox Floral building on Monday morning.

The original call came into Central Dispatch at around 4:20am, with several departments on scene until around 8am.

Departments assisting included: Tecumseh, Raisin Township, Adrian Township, Clinton Village, Ridgeway Township, and Sand Lake Fire Departments… along with Lenawee Community Ambulance and Tecumseh Police.

Tecumseh Fire Chief Joseph Tuckey said that the flames were mostly knocked down within an hour, and that the building is basically a total loss.

No injuries were reported.

According to a press release from the Tecumseh Police Department, the investigation into the cause of the fire at Grey Fox Floral and Tecumseh Coins determined that valuables were missing from the businesses.

Tecumseh City Police and the Michigan State Police made that discovery on Monday…and if you can help in any way, contact the MSP or Tecumseh Police Department.

The Tecumseh Chamber of Commerce will be collecting donations for Grey Fox Floral. If you would like to make a donation, stop in the Chamber office. Checks can be made out to Tecumseh Area Chamber of Commerce.

The cause of the fire and theft are under investigation.
