Two women that have been charged with child abuse felonies have pleaded ‘no contest’ in Lenawee County Circuit Court.
Sarah Phillips and Erinn Tiede pleaded ‘no contest’ to a reduced charge of 3rd degree child abuse. A ‘no contest’ plea is not an admission of guilt, but is treated as such for sentencing.
All other charges will be dismissed as part of a plea deal.
Phillips (left) and Tiede (center) were both working at the Adrian Center for Autism when allegations of abuse came forward against them and Ashleigh Neil (right)… whose name was Ashleigh Sancrant at the time the allegations surfaced. Neil was sentenced in February to 15 days in the Lenawee County Jail, two years probation, and to pay fines.
Sentencing has been set for Tiede and Phillips for May 16th at 8:15am in the courtroom of Judge Anna Marie Anzalone.
