A structure fire on Merrick Street in the City of Adrian had crews on the scene for several hours Thursday night.
One of the apartments had three people inside, two of which were children. They were able to escape without sustaining any injuries. Authorities told WLEN News that the fire started in the kitchen, and that the specific cause was under investigation.
The fire was called in during the 6pm hour, with the following departments responding: Adrian City, Adrian Township, Madison Township, Palmyra Township and Raisin Township Fire Departments. Lenawee Community Ambulance and the Adrian Police Department were assisting as well.
