City of Adrian Gets Approval To Add Sodium Permanganate To Drinking Water

The City of Adrian recently applied for a MDEQ permit to allow the use of sodium permanganate in its water treatment process.

Interim City Administrator Richard Haberman announced at Monday night’s City Commission meeting that the permit was approved and the necessary mechanical changes and adjustments have been made at the Water Treatment Plant.

The sodium permanganate is now being fed into the water system. Due to varying sensitivity levels from person to person, it is difficult to predict when you can expect an improvement. If you have any questions, call the City of Adrian Utilities Department at 264-4820.
