Jackson County Carjacking-Attempt To ID Suspect

Sheriff Steve Rand reports that the Jackson County Office of the Sheriff is currently investigating an armed carjacking in Summit Township. On October 18th at approximately 5:30pm Deputies responded to a report of an armed carjacking in the 2500 block of Helena Ave. The suspect produced a handgun and forced the victim out of his vehicle before taking the vehicle and driving off.
The suspect is described as being a black male in his late 20’s with short facial hair and a mustache, wearing a black sweatshirt, blue jeans, and black shoes. Suspect is armed and should be considered dangerous. The vehicle taken is a 2006 blue Hyundai Elantra 4 Door with Ohio plates.
