This past weekend, LCS sophomore Cole Gallant became a National Champion powerlifter at the USA Powerlifting Raw Nationals in Spokane Washington. He won the 15-year/74kg weight class and set the American record for the top deadlift (465lb), beating the previous record by 40 pounds (425lb). He qualified for nationals by winning one of eight regional events and is now going to train for the World competition as part of the USA Powerlifting National Sub-Junior team. He has been a powerlifter for one year and has been lifting for only two years.

In a statement from Lenawee Christian Ministries: “He is a fantastic young man with a great heart, active faith, and work ethic. He is from Adrian, the son of Mike Gallant and Kim Ayers, trains at the Christian Family Centre, is a triplet, and on the varsity cheer squad.”
