Many Americans observe the anniversary of 9/11 by donating blood with the American Red Cross. Eligible donors are encouraged to roll up a sleeve and honor all those who serve and sacrifice for our country at the 6th Annual Drive of Remembrance Tuesday, September 11th from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. at the Lenawee County Fairgrounds.

Everyone who comes to donate will receive a free Red Cross Drive of Remembrance T-shirt, while supplies last. Presenting donors will also be treated to a hot, home-cooked meal in the Red Cross refreshment area.

9/11 Day was launched in 2002 as an annual day of service to honor the victims and heroes of September 11th. Since then, it has evolved into the largest annual day of charitable engagement in the U.S. Each year tens of millions of people observe the day by performing acts of service and good deeds.

Blood donors of all types are encouraged to give. To donate blood, simply download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org and enter sponsor code: patriotic or call 1-800-RED CROSS.

Michigan International Speedway is hosting a Spirit of America Blood Drive on Tuesday to honor the fallen men and women of the September 11th attacks.

The event will (is) taking place from 7am-7pm at MIS. Both appointments and walk-ins are welcome. You can schedule an appointment at mispeedway.com.

Those who attempt to donate will receive a complimentary t-shirt, behind-the-scenes tour of MIS, lunch in the MIS Champions Club, and a tram ride on the racetrack.
