Former Addison teacher, Washington Local Schools Superintendent and board member Patrick Hickey was sentenced to serve one year in jail by Lenawee County Circuit Court Judge Anzalone. Hickey pleaded guilty to a count of criminal sexual conduct against a minor in May. He admitted to having a sexual relationship with a student while he was a teacher at Addison in the 1980’s.
In addition to jail time, Hickey will spend five years on probation and will have to register as a sex offender for 25 years.
While on probation, he will perform 500 hours of community service, have no contact with children…except for his own…and stay off of social media. Also, he will not be allowed to live, work, or loiter within 1,000 feet of any school property and cannot go within 500 feet of parks, pools, or any place used primarily by children under 17 years old without permission. Hickey also cannot have any contact with the victim or her family while on probation.
