
Former Lenawee County Sheriff, Adrian police officer and Madison Township supervisor Lawrence Richardson has passed away. Lawrence, known as “Larry,” was 72-years-old. Both City and County Officials confirmed the news Wednesday afternoon just after 5pm. Richardson served two terms as the Lenawee County Sheriff and was the first black sheriff in county history. After ending his stint as sheriff in 2008, Richardson served for eight years as the Madison Township supervisor before retiring.
As the debate regarding medical marijuana become a topic in the City of Adrian and County of Lenawee, Richardson became an advocate in favor of medical marijuana in the community. Richardson studied at Siena Heights University.

Funeral services for Lawrence Richardson Jr. will be at 11am on Saturday, June 9th at Herrick Chapel on the campus of Adrian College. Arrangements are under the care of the Wagley Funeral Home in Adrian.
