
A Norfolk Southern Railroad locomotive derailed Saturday morning in Raisin Township near the crossing at Academy Road. Crews were on scene for several hours moving the train back onto the tracks. As of 1pm Saturday, the engine was re-railed according to a Norfolk Southern Railroad representative. There were no injuries reported in the incident and the cause of the derailment is under investigation by Norfolk Southern Railroad officials. The train and its cars were traveling northeast through Lenawee County. Video of the engine being re-railed can be viewed on WLEN’s Facebook page.
