The Adrian City Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting Monday evening. The major item during the regular meeting was the approval of an option of a purchase agreement with TRC Income Fund, LLC for city-owned land located at 2817 West Beecher and to authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute said agreement on behalf of the city of Adrian. The proposal from TRC Income Fund LLC would include a 123,000 square foot facility in Phase 1 for growing, processing and dispensing of cannabis and cannabis products. Phase 2 would
involve approximately 86,000 square foot addition to the existing facility. TRC Income Fund LLC expects to invest up to $35 million in the development of Phase I resulting in the creation of approximately 50-100 local jobs.
The Adrian City Commission also approved a resolution to award a bid to widen the intersection at US223 and Division Street. This widening will occur on the north side of the intersection, adding a “right turn only” lane heading southbound.
Other meeting items included the appointment of Gordon Gauss to the Adrian City Planning Commission for a three year term, entering various farm lease agreements, and awarding bids for asphalt paving and asphalt preventative maintenance.
At the 5:30 pre meeting discussion, the commission considered the possibility of adding more firefighter/paramedics to the Adrian Fire Department. A new ambulance for the department could be in the works as well.
