
Siena Heights University Assistant Professor of Art Erin Zerbe will give a presentation entitled “Performing Gender: The Body as Abject & Object in the Art of Erin Zerbe” on April 9 at the Cotton Brewing Co. in Adrian.
She is a multimedia artist who tackles issues of body image, gender and cultural perceptions of fatness through her performance based art practice.
In this talk, she will cover her major influences, and the role of body performance art in challenging and changing the way society treats issues surrounding feminism, gender and identity.
The presentation is sponsored by the Ethnic and Gender Studies Institute. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the presentation at 7. The talk is free and open to the community.
