The Kiwanis Club of Adrian recently voted on a resolution to help purchase the building Re-Bicycle Lenawee is operating out of.

The vote officially approved the club’s mortgage loan of $35,000 to Re-Bicycle Lenawee. This means that the organization will be able to purchase the building it currently occupies from the building’s landlord. Re-Bicycle Lenawee has been located at 313 E. Maumee Street in Adrian for nearly eight years and will now be able to stay at that location.

An advisory vote was passed 39-3 by members in attendance at a recent club meeting. The Board of Directors then voted and unanimously approved the resolution. Members of the Kiwanis Club of Adrian believe that funding the purchase for Re-Bicycle Lenawee will help the Club pursue its mission of revitalizing Adrian.

The purpose of Re-Bicycle Lenawee is to ‘support and encourage more people to ride bicycles for fun, fitness, and transportation.’ The shop provides free workspace, tools, and assistance for individuals to work on their own bicycles. It also sells low-cost parts and fully serviced bicycles.

The Kiwanis Club of Adrian is a local service club established in Adrian over 75 years ago. To learn more about the Kiwanis Club of Adrian, visit www.adriankiwanis.org.
