From the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office:
“On May 4th, 2018 Pittsford Area Schools officials notified Hillsdale County Central Dispatch that they were investigating a suspicious incident involving a student and the possibility of a gun being on school grounds.
Deputies from the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. The school was put into a Hard Lock Down and deputies were able to make contact with Principal Cook while on their way to the school. It was determined the student had been seen off school grounds and at that time the school was moved to a soft lockdown until the student could be located.
Deputies arrived at the school to investigate while other deputies were able to locate the student at his residence.
This incident still remains under investigation by the Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Office.”
