The Adrian Dominican Sisters kicked off National Catholic Sisters Week on Thursday.  Approximately 75 community leaders gathered for a breakfast on Friday morning at Madden Hall to learn more about the Adrian Dominican order located in our county seat. Prioress Sister Pat Seiman gave a history of the Adrian Dominicans who first came to Lenawee in 1879.

They founded Siena Heights University in 1919.  Other members of the general council provided insight into the 4 priorities for this general chapter term.  The Adrian Dominicans are one of the largest employers in the Lenawee, with a team of 300.  There are 619 sisters located in the United States, the Dominican Republic, the Philippines and Norway.  The Weber Center on the campus offers many programs for the general public.  National Catholic Sisters week runs March 8th through the 14th this year.
