ADRIAN — Two Adrian High School seniors are receiving national recognition for their academic achievement.

Carter Fenner and Edward Hedrick have been named Commended Students in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program. The recognition is based on their performance on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Fenner plans to study exercise science, potentially adding neuroscience or psychology, with the goal of becoming a physician.

Hedrick plans to study mathematics and physics and hopes to become an experimental physicist. Caltech and the University of Michigan are currently at the top of his college list.

Adrian High School Principal Doctor Sam Skeels praised both students and the work behind their recognition.
