LENAWEE CO. — The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office is advising motorists to expect heavier traffic across the county June 5th through June 7th.
This week, thousands of fans will be traveling to Michigan International Speedway for the NASCAR Cup Series FireKeepers Casino 400.
The speedway, located near the US-12 and M-50 intersection, draws visitors who stay in local hotels, campgrounds and rentals while supporting area businesses. Traffic is expected to be busiest Friday afternoon and throughout the weekend.
Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time, watch for pedestrians, motorcycles and RVs, and consider alternate routes.
Deputies and regional law enforcement agencies will be monitoring roadways throughout race weekend.
