ADRIAN — A grant-funded security upgrade is moving forward at the Lenawee County Jail.
The Personnel and Ways and Means Committee approved the use of about $24,000 from a RAP grant to upgrade equipment inside the jail’s control center.
Officials say the funding will go toward improvements aimed at strengthening monitoring and overall safety within the facility.
The upgrade focuses specifically on the control center, which serves as the hub for surveillance and daily jail operations.
The funding does not come from the county’s general fund, but instead through a dedicated grant supporting security enhancements.
County leaders say the improvements are part of ongoing efforts to maintain safety and modernize operations at the jail.
