BLISSFIELD — The Village of Blissfield has withdrawn from Lenawee County’s recycling pilot program, and the recycling dumpster previously located in the village has now been removed.

County officials say they are currently looking for another municipality to host the pilot site. In the meantime, residents are being directed to use existing recycling drop-off locations, including the Lenawee County site on North River Street in Adrian, as well as locations in Onsted and Hudson.

Materials Management Coordinator Julie Maurer says the county still plans to expand recycling opportunities as partnerships and funding allow, especially as it moves forward with a new materials management plan.

Residents are also being reminded not to leave recyclables on the ground if bins are full, and instead return at a later time to avoid contamination and community blight.
