Philip “Flip” Reynolds Jr., 79, passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2026 after a sudden and brief battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Linda. Flip grew up in Jackson, and moved to Clark Lake in 1986.
Flip lived an amazing life and enjoyed his daily breakfasts with his friends at the Big Boy, bike rides around the Clark Lake Spirit Trail, trips to Florida to see the gang in Treasure Island, and flying his model airplanes. He was known by many for his service in the community, volunteering for the Clark Lake Community Center, Brooklyn Historic, and as a trustee for Columbia Township.
His grandkids knew him as Grandpa Flip and remember a life at the lake similar to the one he grew up with; Riding on the raft, setting off fireworks in the lake, racing remote controlled cars, visiting Virginia Coney Island, and scouting for turtles, all while working on a shirtless tan.
Practically, Flip could fix anything, was the first to offer help with everything, and loved taking care of his family. Flip loved life. He will be endlessly missed by his family and by extension, his family of friends in greater Clark Lake, Brooklyn, and Jackson.
He is preceded in death by both parents; his sister, Betsy; and his brother, George.
Besides his wife Linda, Flip is survived by; his sister, Joey; his children, Philip (Megan) Reynolds III, Chris (Mark) Holbert, and Michelle (Steve) Zimmerman; and grandchildren, Owen, Avery, Niya, Ewan, and Emerson.
There will be no formal services. The family requests that you remember Flip in your own way and feel free to share those memories in cards or letters (PO Box 51, Clarklake, MI 49234) as the family mourns privately.
Friends may also express sympathies to the family online by visiting the tribute wall at www.marryfh.com. Arrangements have been made with the guidance of the Anderson Marry Funeral Home, Adrian.
