
Lola Sue Wilson, age 89, of Morenci, died at her home on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, while under the care of Elara Caring Hospice. She was born in Morenci on January 24, 1936, the daughter of the late Wells and Lola Bertha (Cody-Langford) Collar.
Lola was a 1953 graduate of Morenci High School and was a lifelong Morenci resident. She married Charles Donald Wilson in Angola, IN on December 20, 1953. Together they raised a family of three children and enjoyed 55 years as husband and wife prior to his passing on May 22, 2009.
She worked at various jobs in restaurants, factories, and Rick’s Market as well as Betty’s Cake Decorating. Lola retired in 2001 after nearly 13 years from Lenawee Christian Family Center in Adrian, and later again from Lenawee Christian School in 2007 where she worked in the cafeteria.
In addition to her parents and husband, Lola was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Sue in infancy; a sister, Anna Ruth Collar; twin brothers in infancy, Clyde and Claire Collar; brothers, Roy, Wells, Ted, and Doyle Collar; half brothers, Thomas and Charles Langford and Clarence Collar; and half sisters, Iva Emerick and Amy Trumbul.
Surviving are two daughters, Jo Rea (Jerry) Keene of Morenci and Connie Mirelez of Morenci; a son, Donald Alan (Jessica) of Wyoming, MI; eight grandchildren, Jeremy (Melissa) Keene, Joshua (Heidi) Keene, Nathan Mirelez, Deborah Mirelez (Tyler O’Neil), Jessica Mirelez, Gideon Wilson, Greyden Wilson, and Nora Wilson; and several great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the Marry Funeral Home in Morenci on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Bruce Jewett will officiate. Private burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci.
Memorial contributions can be made in Lola’s honor to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Morenci Fire and Rescue. Arrangements have been made with the guidance of the Marry Funeral Home, Morenci.
