Adrian, MI – The Adrian City Commission will devote discussion time at their next regular pre-meeting to the temporarily shuttered Bohn Pool.

The facility was initially supposed to be open for the season this weekend, but Parks and Recreation Director Jeremiah Davies announced in late May that due to ‘critical mechanical issues’ the pool could not open on time.

WLEN News reached out to Davies and City Administrator Greg Elliott Thursday and asked for an update.

Elliott said that the City Commission will be devoting most of their Monday pre-meeting to a discussion of the pool. He said that their plan now is to open for the season, but there will be no heat at Bohn Pool.

There is also a recommendation on the table to offer a fee waiver to help compensate for the fact that the pool will not be heated.

The facility has been a topic of discussion with the Commission in months…and years… past, with the City of Adrian actually paying for a study on Bohn Pool, looking at options to repair or replace the half-century old aquatic center.
