Adrian Schools Receive Report from J.V. Basketball Game Incident from Police/Ypsilanti Admin.

Adrian, MI – A complete investigation has been conducted by the Washtenaw Police Department regarding the incident at Ypsilanti High School during the J.V. basketball game between the Adrian Maples and Ypsilanti Grizzlies on Tuesday.

This includes a thorough review of video available. The following conclusions have been reported to Adrian School Officials by the Ypsilanti Administration and the Washtenaw Police Department:

  • The individuals who caused this event have no affiliation with either Adrian Public Schools or Ypsilanti Community Schools and will face legal action.
  • At no time were any Adrian Fans, Players or Parents involved in these events.
  • There is not evidence, including extensive video review, that a firearm was involved at any time during this event.

APS Superintendent Nate Parker thanks and commends the school’s coaching staff, parents, and student athletes for the way they conducted themselves during this event, and their conduct and cooperation in restoring order and ensuring the safety of everybody.
