Monroe County, MI – A 25-year-old Monroe woman died as a result of injuries sustained in a head-on two vehicle crash in Frenchtown Township.
Sheriff Troy Goodnough is reporting that the crash occurred on Newport Road, east of Telegraph Road at about 8:30 Monday morning.
The 25-year-old, Victoria Donnelly-Goins, was operating a 2008 Honda Civic westbound… lost control of her vehicle on the icy roadway, traveled over the centerline, and struck a 2019 Ford Escape operated by a 34-year-old Flat Rock, Michigan woman.
Both were wearing safety belts at the time of the crash. Speed is a factor in the crash. Donnelly-Goins was pronounced deceased on scene. The 34-year-old was evaluated by medical personnel and released.
The crash remains under investigation.
