Lansing, MI – Representative-elect Dale Zorn – a current state senator who is returning to the House of Representatives next month – will serve as Republican caucus dean for 2023-24 term.

Zorn, of Onsted, was named to the position by Republican Leader-Elect Matt Hall.

“I am pleased to work with our caucus in the upcoming term so we can provide solutions for issues that Michigan workers and families continue to face every day,” Zorn said. “Together, we can craft effective legislation that provides relief for out-of-control cost increases, brings more good-paying jobs to Michigan and makes our state a better place to live, work and raise a family. This role ensures we are working toward that goal for the people we represent, and Lenawee County will have a voice in Republican leadership as we tackle these issues that are impacting so many.”

The caucus dean fulfills a role in providing mentorship, leadership and other guidance for legislative colleagues. Zorn served in the House from 2011 through 2014 before being elected to the Senate, where he has served the past eight years.

Zorn was elected to the House again in November and will represent the new 34th District – covering most of Lenawee County. The new legislative term begins in January.
