Lenawee County Judge Issues Decision on Adrian Egg Powder Processing Facility Case

Adrian, MI – Lenawee County District Court, Judge Laura Schaedler ruled on the case between the City of Adrian and Crimson Holdings LLC…the egg powder processing facility on Adrian’s East Side.

City Attorney John Gillooly (pictured standing, below) was the plaintiff in this instance, representing the residents of Adrian, who have been complaining about an egg odor in the area of the facility for several months.

One of the arguments made by the defense attorney, Louis Ronayne (pictured standing, below), was centered on which agency controls the practices and standards for Crimson Holdings to follow. The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Michigan Department of Great Lakes and Energy have their own set of standards for certain emissions.

After Judge Schaelder heard closing arguments from each attorney, she reached this decision. WLEN News was in the room, and captured this recording…
