Tecumseh, MI – The Tecumseh City Council will discuss the future of the Scout Cabin, located in Elliott Park, at their 7:30pm meeting tonight.

City Manager Dan Swallow recommends that Council discuss options for the building…but left it open if they would like to take a vote on it.

Based on the posted agenda on the City of Tecumseh’s website, Swallow says that Krieghoff-Lenawee has assisted in a condition assessment of the building. Apparently, there are a number of structural, functional and cosmetic issues with the building.

Krieghoff-Lenawee submitted a rough estimate of about 377 thousand dollars to the City of Tecumseh for restoring the Scout Cabin.

City Manager Swallow says that it is important for the City to look at other options for a structure at this site, and further evaluate how Elliott Parks fits into their overall Recreation Plan and facility needs.

Council will meet at 7:30pm at Tecumseh City Hall.
