Adrian, MI – Derrick Richards, who has served Adrian Public Schools in various roles for the last 13 years, and current director of curriculum and instruction, was approved in a unanimous vote by the Adrian Board of Education for promotion to Assistant Superintendent.
A news release from Superintendent Nathan Parker said that Richards joined Adrian Public Schools as a teacher at McKinley Education Center in 2009. In the subsequent years, he continued teaching at McKinley while also serving as a Graduation Coach at Springbrook Middle School.
In 2012, Richards was promoted to administration as Director of McKinley Education Center. Richards’ role expanded to the central office as Director of State and Federal Programs in 2014 and the Director of Curriculum and Instruction in 2015.
