Lenawee County, MI – The numbers are in, locally, from the recent National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) food drive. Tracy Shuck, with the Adrian office of the US Post Service told WLEN News in an email that Lenawee County carriers brought in 14,959 pounds of nonperishable food.

She said that the total was pretty close to the last time they did it in 2019.

Stamp Out Hunger, the country’s largest one-day food drive, provides communities with an easy way to donate food to those in need. The traditional food drive returned this year after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Several national partners assisted NALC in the food drive: the U.S. Postal Service, the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW), the National Rural Letter Carriers’ Association, Vericast, United Way Worldwide, the AFL-CIO, Valpak, the Kellogg Company, and CVS Health.
