61-Year-Old Man Dies of Injuries Sustained in Crash at M-50 / M-52 Intersection

Franklin Twp., MI – An Ann Arbor man died of his injuries at a hospital after a crash at the intersection of M-52 and M-50 in Lenawee County on Tuesday night.

According to Sheriff’s Deputies, a 2016 Ford Edge was traveling westbound on M-50 and a 2012 Dodge Caravan was traveling southbound on M-52 approaching M-50 at around 10pm,. As the Ford Edge drove through the intersection, it struck the Dodge Caravan, causing it to roll over off the southwest corner of the intersection. Deputies are investigating which vehicle had the right-of-way at the time of this crash.

The driver of the Ford Edge, a 51-year-old male from Tecumseh was transported to Hickman Hospital for minor injuries. The driver of the Dodge Caravan, a 37-year-old female from Ypsilanti, was transported to U of M Hospital for non- lifethreatening injuries. The male, from Ann Arbor, was ejected from the vehicle and was transported to U of M hospital..where he later passed away as a result of his injuries sustained in the crash. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this crash.

The occupants of the Dodge Caravan were not wearing their seatbelts, while the driver of the Ford Edge was wearing his seatbelt. The next of kin has been notified.

The Lenawee County Accident Investigation Team was called to the scene and the crash is under further investigation.

The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Tecumseh Police Department, Raisin Twp Police Department, Adrian Twp Police Department, Michigan State Police, Tecumseh Fire Department, Raisin Twp Fire Department and Huron Valley Ambulance.
