Lenawee County, MI – Two girls jumped out of the canoe they were fishing from when a fiberglass boat bumped into them on Silver Lake this weekend.
Lenawee County Sheriff Troy Bevier told WLEN News that the boat was traveling slowly near the shoreline, and the driver did not hear the girl’s warning that he was going to hit them. He also didn’t see the canoe.
There were no injuries. Sheriff Bevier said that all involved had their boater safety cards, and there was very minimal damage done to the canoe. Drugs or alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
