Adrian Man Dies in Weekend Crash on M-50

Update 6/21 – The Adrian man who died in the crash has been identified as Cory James Sackett by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. The operator of the Toyota Corolla has been identified as James Beverly Glenn Jr., a 65-year-old Inkster man. He was transported via medical helicopter to St. Vincent Medical Center, in Toledo, OH, where he was pronounced deceased at 7:55pm as a result of injuries suffered during the crash.

Monroe County, MI – Authorities say that just after 2pm Saturday afternoon, an Adrian man died in a crash on M-50, in Dundee Township.

The 32-year-old was driving a 2007 Saturn Aura on M-50 and drove off the road briefly. Police said the driver of the Saturn re-entered the road and rear-ended a 2011 Ford Focus, which was driven into a ditch.

The Saturn then crossed the centerline and collided with a 2007 Toyota Corolla. The Adrian man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Corolla was transported to a Toledo hospital by helicopter.

The driver of the Ford Focus reported minor injuries. Police believe the Adrian man was excessively speeding at the time.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
