Tecumseh, MI – The City of Tecumseh was approached by a fire truck company looking to sell a Demonstration Pierce Ladder Truck… and the Council turned them down.
Tecumseh Mayor Jack Baker spoke to WLEN News about the move. He mentioned that people within the Fire Department found things with the truck that do not line up with what they are looking for in a new truck.
Baker also said that they would rather look at a brand new truck down the road… when they are actually in the market for a new ladder truck… than save $60,000 – plus on a truck now that is not 100% what they’re looking for.
All things considered, Mayor Baker said that the number one reason for turning down the proposal was the color of the truck…
