Deerfield, MI – Britton-Deerfield Schools has reported their first positive test of COVID-19. Superintendent Stacy Johnson, in a statement posted to the school district website Monday, said that students in the Deerfield Building are affected by this exposure and will be moving to remote learning for the next two weeks.

The news release went on to say that: “Students will return to face-to-face learning on Monday, November 2, 2020. It is important to remember that only students in the Deerfield building are affected. The Britton Building will be  operating with face-to-face learning as normal. If you have children in both buildings, the Britton  child{ren) have not been exposed to close contact. Therefore, they do not have to be quarantined  unless they exhibit symptoms.

Google Classroom instruction has taken place with all of our students. They are trained on the Google Classroom platform and should know how to access their work. If you have individual  questions you can reach out to your child’s teachers. They will be meeting with students virtually  once a day. Students who do not have connectivity at home will be allowed to complete work via  paper packets. Teachers are working on getting assignments around for children now.”
