LA Dodgers Pitcher Caleb Ferguson To Undergo Tommy John Surgery

The Los Angeles Dodgers said on Thursday that left-hander Caleb Ferguson will undergo Tommy John surgery and as a result will be out for the season,

Ferguson has been outstanding this season, with an 0.63 ERA during his first 15 outings. However the 24-year-old was removed from Tuesday’s game at San Diego with elbow discomfort. The procedure is expected to happen next week.

Ferguson also had Tommy John surgery as a senior in high school in 2014, but the Dodgers still drafted him in the 38th round that year as he was in the midst of his rehab. Ferguson was 2-1 with a 2.89 ERA in 21 appearances this season and is 10-5 with a 3.93 ERA in 96 appearances (six starts) with the Dodgers since 2018.
