Adrian, MI – With unanimous board approval, Habitat for Humanity of Lenawee County has named Wendy Knox as their new executive director.

Knox is a lifelong resident of Lenawee County and a familiar face among nonprofits, having served 14 years with Hospice of Lenawee, and most recently as the Director of Human Resources at Provincial House in Adrian. She succeeds Lynne Punnett, who held the position since 2012 and was the driving force in beginning Habitat Lenawee’s work in Neighborhood Revitalization.

“Wendy has great experience in the nonprofit community, and we look forward to what she will bring to the organization,” said Jeff Rising, board president. “While we are sad to see her go, we would like to thank Lynne Punnett for her years of dedication and service to Habitat. We wish her much luck and success in her next chapter.”

Knox’s hiring comes as the organization prepares for the ReOpening Day at the Habitat ReStore and the 2020 Faith Build, sponsored by the Adrian Dominican Sisters and other local faith partners. These projects and other Habitat activities are currently closed to the public due to COVID-19 safety precautions.

“Working for Habitat is a lifelong dream. I am very committed to the revitalization of the east side and have always wanted to lead a local nonprofit in Lenawee County. This opportunity brings all of that together,” Knox said.

Wendy holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees from Siena Heights University, where she studied Organizational Leadership and Human Resources.

June will be a month of transition, with Knox officially assuming the Executive Director position on July 1st.
