An Adrian Public Schools bus was hit by a passenger vehicle Friday afternoon on Division Street, near where the street intersects Michigan Street.

The Adrian City Police Officer on scene told WLEN News that the driver of the passenger vehicle turned southbound onto Division from Michigan, and then struck the bus, which was in the northbound lane approaching the intersection.

The lone occupant of the car refused treatment and transport at the scene, according to an Adrian City Firefighter. There were two people on the bus, delivering lunches for APS students, at the time of the crash. They were not injured.

Drugs or alcohol are not suspected as the cause of the crash, but the driver of the passenger vehicle was possibly distracted. They were also operating on a suspended license.

It is unclear what, if any, legal action will come from the crash because of the courts being compromised due to COVID-19.
