Hudson MI – The Thompson House Museum will host a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment on Saturday, March 14, 2020. The 19th Amendment prohibits states and the federal government from denying the right to vote to citizens of the US on the basis of sex. The Amendment was introduced to Congress in 1878 but was not passed until 1919, and ratified in 1920.

Costumed reenactors will assist with interpreting the women’s suffrage movement during tours of the Museum on Saturday, March 14 from 10 am to 4 pm. Tours of the Museum leave every hour on the hour and cost only $5 per person during the special hours. At 1 pm, there will be a tea, catered by Rumors of Hudson, where participants will be able to interact with the reenactors and inquire in-depth about the history of the right to vote movement.

Tickets for the tea are $25 per person and can be purchased by calling the museum at (517) 448-8125.
