The Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a rollover crash in the area of Club 223 on US 223 and Rome Road in Rome Township at around 12:20am on Friday, January 17th.

According to Sheriff’s Deputies, the driver, 21-year-old Kayla Garcia of Adrian was south bound on US 223 when she left the roadway and continued straight at the curve near Rome Road. The
2013 Chrysler 300 that she was driving became airborne then struck a pole before rolling onto
its roof and coming to rest in the parking lot of Club 223. Garcia was pronounced dead at the
scene by first responders.

There were no other occupants in the vehicle and at this time it is unknown if Garcia was
wearing her seatbelt. Speed, alcohol and drugs appear to be factors in the crash. The incident
remains under investigation by the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Accident Investigation Team.
Cambridge Fire Department, Lenawee Community Ambulance and Michigan State Police
assisted at the scene.
