A second Christmas Home Tour has been planned for December 7, 2019, from 1 to 5 pm in Hudson. Sponsored by the Hudson Alumni Association, the tour will feature five beautifully decorated homes that are sure to put visitors in the holiday spirit.

The homes on the tour are an excellent cross sampling of the types of construction that can be found in the Hudson area. Back by popular demand, two homes that were on the tour last year will once again be featured.

The Ladenberger House, was built in the 1840s, and is the oldest home on the tour. Visitors will find that many of the home’s original features have been preserved. The Coleman Foundation, also built in the 1800s, is a proud example of the Italianate design originally built by one of Hudson’s first business owners, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. New this year, the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Rectory will be opened to allow visitors to tour this home that has so much meaning and historic significance. The Rectory was built in 1907 using stones that were brought in by Catholic farm families from their fields. The Rowley House was designed to capture the beauty of the property where it is located and will be charmingly decorated with seven Christmas trees. The Stump House is the most unique home on the tour. The home’s most prominent feature is its two towers. Built with Hudson Limestone, it has earned its title, the “Castle House.”

The tour begins at the Hudson Museum, located at 219 W. Main St. The Museum is a wealth of information on Hudson history, and has been classified as one of the finest small town museums in the State of Michigan.

Tickets are $20.00 and can be purchased on the day of the tour at the Hudson Museum, 219 W. Main St., or in advance at the Hudson Alumni Association, 550 E. Main St. Proceeds will go to The Press Box Fundraiser.

The tour was planned to coincide with the Hudson Community Chorus Christmas Cantata, which will perform its second concert of the weekend on December 7th at 7:30 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Tour-goers are encouraged to arrange their day so that they can take in both the sights and sounds of the holiday season with the tour and the concert.
