Tecumseh Public Schools Superintendent Ryan Rhoades submitted his resignation last Thursday, hours before the expected release of an investigative report into his conduct. At their special meeting Friday night, the Tecumseh Public Schools Board of Education formally accepted the resignation.

Rhoades was placed on paid, non-disciplinary leave March 26th pending the outcome of an independent investigation into his conduct. The day before, he had been awarded a contract by the board during a meeting where five Tecumseh school administrators issued a ‘vote of no confidence,’ accusing him of creating a hostile work environment, harassing, intimidating and threatening staff.

After the meeting Friday night, WLEN News talked to TPS Board President Tim Simpson about a variety of things… from the investigation into Rhoades and himself, to the future of the Superintendent position at TPS.

Simpson offered his thoughts on Rhoades’ resignation…

He also said that he thinks the investigation was done well, and was done properly.

WLEN News asked Simpson if the board might look for a Superintendent similar to Rhoades, since the board did give him the job a few months ago…

The TPS Board of Education must now look for yet another superintendent, as Simpson explains…

The district currently is being led by Interim Superintendent Greg Lewis, who was appointed on May 13th, becoming TPS’ fifth superintendent in a period of five months since a new board of education took office in January.
