Cigarette Thief In Addison

Crime Stoppers of Lenawee is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the suspect(s) responsible for the theft of 6 cartons of cigarettes. On May 26, 2018 at 4:58pm an older white male entered the Sunoco Convenience Store located at US 12 and US 127 in Addison, Michigan. Once in the store the white male approaches the sales clerk stating that his girlfriend had been in the store earlier and paid for 6 cartons of Marlboro Gold cigarettes and left them at the counter when she left the store. The male distracted the clerk and when the clerk turned her back on the male the male then taped a note on the sales counter from the store management stating it was ok for the clerk to give him the cigarettes. The male suspect pointed out the note to the clerk and the clerk read the note then gave the male the cigarettes and the male left the store after the clerk gave him the cigarettes. The clerk told management of the incident and management said they did not give anyone a note to get the 6 cartons of cigarettes and it was discovered that this has happened before and has happened at other convenience stores in the area.

The subjects is described as a older white male, wearing a dark colored baseball cap, black t-shirt with some type of logo on the front and dark colored pants. The suspect was driving a red Chevy HHR and left the parking lot east bound on US 12.
