A structure fire at Chips Grille and Bar was called in to the Clinton Fire Department during the 7am hour on Sunday. Clinton Assistant Fire Chief Clayton Covell told WLEN News that the fire was considered under control within 20-30 minutes, and is currently under investigation.
The fire was mostly contained to the apartment above the business. The Clinton Police Department and the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Department assisted by briefly closing US 12.
The Clinton Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Tecumseh Fire Department, Sand Lake Fire Department, Manchester Fire Department, Madison Township Fire Department (with the county air truck), and Ridgeway Fire Department (to provide station coverage). The Lenawee Community Ambulance also assisted at the scene.
