Village of Clinton Construction Notice

The Village of Clinton is getting ready for the mill and overlay portion of the Jackson Road Construction Project. On May 14, 2018, at 7:00 am all vehicles must be removed from the roadway or they will be towed at the owner’s expense. Please turn off any sprinkler systems.

The contractor is tentatively scheduled to mill Jackson Road on May 14, 2018, starting at 7:00 am, from Michigan Avenue to the north Village limits. That work should take one very long day, weather permitting. The road will be closed to through traffic with flag people directing traffic. Expect delays if driving through that area.

If there are no delays with the milling work or the weather, on May 15, 2018, the contractor will lay asphalt on the street. Jackson Road will be closed to one lane which will cause significant traffic delays for vehicles trying to drive through that area. The contractor will have flag people directing traffic. The side streets will be closed off at Jackson Road during construction. Expect significant delays if trying to drive in that area.

Residents living in that area should park their vehicles on sides streets the night before so that they do not have as long of a delay getting to work or getting children to school. Please take proactive steps to help reduce the likelihood of getting stuck in your driveway for an extended period.

Please note that you may drive on the new asphalt surface after the contractor is finished, however the village asks that you DRIVE VERY CAREFULLY without spinning your tires or turning sharply as the new asphalt requires a couple days and some cooler weather to firm up.
