On April 28, 2018, ProMedica Bixby Hospital was a site for the Drug Take Back Day for Lenawee County, along with the Clinton Police Department. ProMedica Bixby and Herrick Hospitals offered to the community free disposal of all other medications including liquids, inhalers, patches and even sharps. Here are some numbers from the ProMedica Bixby Hospital location:
More than 162 pounds of tablets and capsules; 111 pounds of bottled medicinal liquids and topical products; 12 pounds of inhalers; and eight 38 gallon containers filled with sharps.
The Clinton Medication Take Back Event was a great success as well, and brought in
40 people and nearly 30 pounds of medications. Nearly 600 opioids were removed from The Village of Clinton.
