Adrian Public Schools students showcased their robotics, 3-D printing, rocketry, Makerspace and other Science, Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM)-inspired projects to the Adrian community at the STEM and 10th Grade Project Night on Wednesday, May 2, in the Adrian High School gym.

As part of the event, 10th-grade students showcased their individual projects on a wide range of topics reflecting their interests and experiences. The program also included demonstrations by teachers and students reflecting their work from the classroom, and demonstrations by the Adrian Maples Bluebotics and Junior Bluebotics robotics teams. Families and community members had hands-on opportunities with the wide range of student STEM-inspired projects.

WLEN News talked to Sherrie Wiedyk, APS Instructional Coach, and she explained how the event has grown over the years…

WLEN News then talked to Derrick Richards, Adrian Public Schools Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Richards had nothing but good things to say about the event…

STEM is an interdisciplinary and applied approach that is connected with hands-on, problem-based learning in the content areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
